Black and White
Black and white photography is photography in its purest form, placing the emphasis on shape, texture, lighting, contrast and composition. It is less forgiving than colour because all these elements have to be right - you can’t rely on beautiful colours to ‘save’ the image. If a picture looks good in black and white, chances are it will look good in colour, but the reverse is not necessarily true. It is, therefore, very rewarding when you get it right.
I think black and white photography also has a timeless feel to it.
